Causse Du Larzac

The causse du Larzac is the largest of the plateaux that make up the regional natural park of the Grands Causses, and has the harshest climate, with fierce winters and hot, dry summers. The local traditional architecture, in consequence, is solid and severe. The plateau is at its best in springtime, when wild thyme and lavender scent the air, and tiny many-coloured flowers burst forth from every crevice.
